The sterling silver jewellery is named after orphaned rhino’s we have saved and are being rehabilitated - Balu, Nhlanhla, Khulula and Matimba. Ernest Horningway, a big city rhinoceros, has discovered a terrible truth. His wild cousins in Africa and hundreds of other animal species, are being wiped out by international poaching gangs. Helping Rhinos is a UK based registered charity (registered charity number: 1155309) with a dual focus, best summarised by their mission statement: “Creating awareness of the issues threatening the global rhino population and raising funds to help protect them for future generations” Helping Rhinos is a completely voluntary organisation, ensuring that everyone who gets involved does so for the passion of helping to protect the world’s remaining rhinos. It also means that they can really maximise the impact of any donations in the place it is needed most - with the rhinos. Helping Rhinos initiated the "Sponsor a Mamba" campaign, and in addition raises funds to aid us with our daily running costs. |

Formally partnered with 17 local and international charities, My Green World is developing a range of initiatives that assist in raising the profile of education and wildlife conservation; revolutionising the way the public connects with charities.
My Green World’s primary function is to empower the global community through interaction, education and enlightenment. Created by dedicated animal activists and professionals, My Green World is utilising modern technology to transform social media and game culture to a more ethical model that promotes the restoration of natural environments. Our key areas of focus are mobile game development, volunteer expedition providers, and charity watchdog information. |
Voluntarily run since 2009 by past Transfrontier Africa Volunteer Vivianne Burns. Pennies for Eles is a U.K. based non-profit organisation that operates and collects funding within the U.K. and Europe. They are exclusively affiliated with Transfrontier Africa and 100% of money raised goes to Transfrontier Africa' Projects.
Pennies for Eles have not only raised funds for Black Mambas, but have also donated full uniforms including boots for all of our mambas as well as equipment, such as; night vision goggles, sleeping bags, back packs, water bottles, torches. They have also helped with costs towards are 4 elephant collaring operations in collaboration with Elephants Alive, Elephant rescues, various vehicle repairs, fuel contributions and funded the first ever Annual Bush Babies Camp. |

The mission of Rhino Mercy is to support a variety of anti-poaching education initiatives and raise global awareness of the beauty and awe of the rhino and its habitat, thereby stimulating civil public outrage over growing rhino deaths due to poaching. Money raised by Rhino Mercy has been donated to aid in the cost of training of new Black Mamba recruits and general operational expenses such as fuel, vehicle maintenance and equipment. |
Rettet das Nashorn is a german based organisation and when directly translated means "Save the Rhino". The founders of Rettet das Nashorn are specialized dog trainers and are responsible for supplying years of training to number of our APU sniffer dogs, at the Perdita Lubbe Dog Academy.
Rettet das Nashorn has since funded numerous collaring operations including the collars/transmitters, helicopter and veterinary costs. They have also funded tracking equipment that is used daily to monitor rhino population movements, vehicle maintenance costs, such as fuel, tyres, Helicopter and veterinary costs for animal rescues as well as Vehicles, uniforms and all kinds of APU equipment. |

The Aalborg Zoo in Denmark began supporting Transfrontier Africa in 2010, by booking out Transfrontier Africa's volunteer camp for four days each year, bringing their employee's to the bush to witness the species that they work with in their natural habitat.
Aalborg Zoo have assisted with funds for operational costs and fuel over the years, but most recently, they have been annually funding the Black Mambas monthly rations since 2015. A Danish travel agency that organises safari trips throughout Africa, Africa Tours has supported and sponsored Transfrontier Africa and the Black Mambas Anti-Poaching Unit since 2013. Every year, they send groups of volunteers to join our Research and Conservation Volunteer Program.
All funds raised through the volunteer program go straight back into conservation and of course our Black Mambas Anti-Poaching Unit. |
Elephants Alive mission is to ensure the survival of elephants and their habitats and to promote harmonious co-existence between man and elephants.
Elephants Alive has a long standing relationship with Transfrontier Africa and Black Mambas, working with them since 2006, and have assisted with the costs of training of new recruits, community education campaigns and online marketing. Elephants Alive is currently working with the Black Mambas on the Pathfinders project that involves herding adventurous elephants who have broken out from the fence line back to safety in the reserve. |
Flying for Rhino and Conservation was started to provide air support over the conservation areas that harbor our rhino. Aerial surveillance forms a key part of the fight against animal poaching, but the high running cost of traditional aeroplanes and helicopters means that they can not always be used efficiently. Flying for Rhino and Conservation has found a workable solution to this problem. Through the use of a Light Sport Aircraft called a Bat Hawk, they are able to provide air support for extended periods of time due low running cost.
As if that wasn't enough thanks to donor funding, Flying for Rhino offer there services for free to the people who need it the most, the anti-poaching unit working on the ground. Flying for Rhino's have assisted the Black Mambas with numerous counter poaching, cutting our aerial operation costs by almost half, Please help them to continue to help us by supporting this great NPO! |
Conservation in action! The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) conserves threatened species and ecosystems in Southern Africa by initiating research and conservation action program, implementing projects which mitigate threats facing species diversity and supporting sustainable natural resource management.
The Endangered Wildlife Trust are responsible for funding the training cost of all new Black Mamba cadets including the training of our specialised anti-poaching sniffer dog, Shaya. The Endangered Wildlife Trust have also funded upgrades to a number of our 'Picket site' and covered numerous operational expenses. |
Frank van Wezel, Chairman and founder of Hi-Tec Sports, has made substantial donations to kick start a global anti-poaching awareness
campaign. In a unique and hard hitting campaign, Frank has committed to using every pair of shoes sold under Hi-Tec Sports as a carrier for “Stop the Rhino killing” message, using specially designed swing tags. The message is clear, the Rhinos need all the help they can get. The Black Mambas have received not only cash donations from Hi-Tec Sports, but also numerous pairs of boots, socks as well as Black Mamba branded sun hats and baseball caps for all our teams. |
The Kansas City Zoo is deeply committed to sponsoring and raising awareness to conservation programs to preserve our world for generations to come.
Kansas City Zoo contributes significantly to preserving the diversity of species and conserving resources on earth while influencing others to do the same. $307,000 was donated to various conservation projects in 2016 alone. Kansas City Zoo sponsored two Black Mamba picket upgrades in early 2017, and continue to support our anti poaching technologies and security initiatives into 2018. |
Point Foundation is a voluntary UK based non-profit organisation committed to specific projects in South Africa & Rwanda, creating better life opportunities for thousands of children living in social poverty. It focuses on realistic projects enabling marginalised children to get a good start in education. This includes school renovations, pupil sponsorship, specialist teacher wages, lunches, transport and the classroom equipment & materials needed to provide a fully inclusive education. Since 2006 Point Foundation has built close links with the communities it works with, making regular visits and managing funds directly at ground level. Donors and sponsors are individually updated on how their funding helps sustain the success of projects and the valuable difference they are making to young lives.
The Point Foundation began supporting the Bush Babies Environmental Education Program in October 2017 by funding the Classroom upgrades needed at the 10 schools currently taking part in the program. |
Transfrontier Africa acts in its capacity as a Host Agent on behalf of the Extended Public Works Program through Kruger to Canyon Biosphere's Enviromental Monitor Programme. A social upliftment program that aims to address unemployment and assist with skills development in South Africa, administered by SANParks and accommodates the women from the local previously disadvantaged community. Through this program, SANParks funds the salaries for all Black Mamba recruits and Transfrontier Africa are responsible for all other costs including their training, equipment, uniforms and transport.

The Perfect World Foundation is a Scandinavian based independent non-profit organization established in 2010 to raise awareness, funding, and to take action together with animal and nature conservation projects around the world.
The Perfect World Foundation is an “independent” organization that works closely together with other “on site” organizations to assist and unite with the ambition to reach common goals and to raise awareness and funding. We want to become the voice for the speechless nature and animals. TPWF make annual funding contributions to the Black Mamba program as well as donating jewelry and t-shirts to our rangers. |
The Platter Project aims to create awareness around organ donation and wildlife conservation.
Furthermore, by raising funds through the 'sale' of their platters (hand painted by Di Wilkinson who is battling end-stage kidney failure and awaiting a kidney transplant) they support organizations associated with organ donation and wildlife conservation. The Platter Project are supporting our Bush Babies Environmental Education program through donations raised through the sales of their platters. |
Rocking for Rhinos pulls together bands from all over South Africa and more recently from around the globe, allowing festival goers of all backgrounds to enjoy a three day musical event whilst contributing to rhino conservation. We hope to develop the Rocking for Rhinos festival into one of South Africa's biggest music events, with all proceeds continuing to support South Africa's wildlife in need.
Rocking for Rhinos have supported the Black Mambas APU for the past three years. They have contributed greatly through donations and the "profits" raised from the annual three day festival, as well as other fund raising events they hold throughout the year. |
Veterans For Wildlife is an International Charity that was started as a direct response to the increase in wildlife crime, particularly rhino and elephant poaching in Africa. They do this by enabling veterans to transfer their skills, knowledge, and experience onto organisations and personnel on the ground through training, supporting, and mentoring.
VFW support the Black Mambas APU with various training programs as well as donations of supplies and assisting in the transportation of other donations from the UK to South Africa. |

TUSK together with Scheinberg Relief Fund and partners launched Wildlife Ranger Challenge in July 2020 in order to raise awareness and help African Rangers in need after COVID-19 had brought tourism in Africa to a halt. Many rangers lost their jobs and the salaries of many were reduced. The Black Mambas were not an exception. After revision of our application, TUSK gave us the grant to be able to pay salaries to our rangers, stay at work and continue making our nature reserve resilient to poaching.

Ray and Margie Dearlove and Family have become our sponsors when the issue with The Bush Babies bus emerged. The Bus was used for all Bush Babies trips and it was critically important to fix it to continue our environmental educational program. Ray and Margie came to the rescue and funded the bus repairs and maintenance. Currently we are waiting for the bus to be fixed. The Bush Babies cannot wait to continue their bush adventures!
